INTRO TO GUITAR OVERVIEW
INTRO TO GUITAR LEVEL I
- There's no better time to start learning guitar! Intro to Guitar will introduce your child to what they need to know on guitar and will teach them what they need to know to join a Jr. Rock Band! Whether your child has finished our Bigger Beats program or is first starting to learn guitar, this is the class for them.
- PREREQUISITE: None
- PROGRAM LENGTH: 24 weeks
INTRO TO GUITAR LEVEL II
- Let's keep a good thing going! Intro to Guitar - Level II will build on what your child learned in Level I while challenging them to explore new techniques and musical territory. Level II is also the perfect class to take while your child is in our Junior Rock Band program.
- PREREQUISITE: Intro to Guitar - Level I or a placement jam.*
- PROGRAM LENGTH: 24 weeks
* A placement jam is when we invite you and your child in for a relaxed, 15 minute jam session so we can see where they're at on their instrument. This allows us to recommend the program that's best suited to them.
WHAT EXACTLY IS INTRO TO GUITAR?
Intro to Guitar will give your child the perfect introduction to guitar in an "out of the box" way. We have a custom curriculum that uses rock classics and kid-centered teaching techniques to get your child pumped about guitar while challenging them to grow as a musician.
ARE PRIVATE GUITAR LESSONS BETTER FOR MY CHILD?
Not necessarily. While one-on-one guitar lessons have become the typical starting place for many beginner guitar players, we believe "typical" doesn't always equal best.
When it comes to music, kids really benefit from learning to play music with others. Intro to Guitar gives your child the chance to do exactly this in a way that private guitar lessons can't.
Private guitar lessons are a great option as your child gets more advanced with guitar. They're also a good option if your child tends to struggle with learning in a group.
HOW DO I KNOW IF INTRO TO GUITAR IS RIGHT FOR MY CHILD?
If your child is between the ages of 7 and 10 and they're first starting to learn guitar, then Intro to Guitar is a great choice for them.
Intro to Guitar is also the perfect next step for students who have completed our Bigger Beats program.
